Summer Project: photography

The summer project we've been given for the foundation year is 20 pieces of work exploring a theme. As well as finished pieces of work, we can submit photography, sketches, explorations of colour, texture. The idea is for us to play and explore and experiment, then present everything in some sort of collection. I have some ideas on that, but for now I will share some photography from my trip to Nova Scotia. These are going to feed into the larger theme potentially, but as a group they look at wood, its uses and textures.

Gung Hay Fat Choy!

We had such an amazing time at London's Chinese New Year celebrations today. Apparently they are the biggest outside mainland China! I took loads of photos, and, for once, I actually went through them when I got home and only kept my favourites. So much more enjoyable to look through, although I still kept alot - do check out my top 20 on flickr.

Catching up

Now that it is the holidays and we are pretty much ready for it all, I have time to play. I'm not home, so I am limited to books and a journal, camera and laptop (plus one more present to finish making). I took the opportunity this evening to upload the photos from our 2005 Vancouver trip to flickr. Three sets are finished, but the other "around the city" needs editing. Here are some highlights:
