Christmas (well nearly) in Vienna

Christmas_is_coming_2005_086Last Friday, after school had broken up, I flew to Vienna to meet Mum. We stayed in a pension and totally relaxed, we talked and walked and ate stollen and oranges and cashews. We saw new places and places we knew and walked and walked. We did take the underground one day, but not on the one day when it rained and rained. I like Vienna, although I have almost no German. I think this is the street we walked up almost everyday, on the way to Stephanplatz, the square where St. Stephan's cathedral is.

StephanplatzThere you go - a picture of St. Stephen's too.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Not so much behind as working at my own pace...

I didn't get to this last night, but as so many people have obviously stopped by to see it, I was inspired to put it up.

I believe the paper is Junkitz. I chose two Christmases that stood out strongly in my memory. 1982 - a year in which we travelled home to see my very ill Grandfather, but there were also some classic holiday moments with cousins, a rare thing for this summer visitor. & 1992 - the first Christmas I was married, spent at home in London. The journalling is written so that if you pull to the left, you can read all of 1982 without the distraction of 1992 & and vice versa for 1992 if you pull to the right.

Thanks for stopping by...Christmas_journal_p6

To-do List Meets Art

My sitting room floor is covered in Christmas clutter! I am trying to be organised and wrap my presents as I go along. Luckily Shimelle's prompt yesterday was to record our gift shopping and gift wrapping.Christmas_journal_p7

The background is torn from the gift wrap covering my floor at the moment as I wrap presents to deliver this weekend. The ribbons are from the same pile. I made the little file folder and brushed it with red liquid acrylic. Inside the folder are copies of my moleskine notebook that my to-do list is slowly filling up. There are Daisy D's tabs and letters. I have done my journalling on the back of one of the gift tags that match my 'main' gift wrap for this year.
