Off we go to the Stitching and Knitting Show at Alexandra Palace. We want to enjoy the autumn, and see the park in daylight (we had seen it in the night when we were there for Razorlight). I have a textiles passion/addiction, having made things in the past using crochet, knitting, needlework, embroidery and quilting. My debit card is scared...
New Toys
What a great week for art. I was in the art shop in Kingston on Saturday and finally found beeswax polish to stop my art journal pages sticking together. I also bought acrylic inks - I resisted the box of six!!! - in indigo and purple. What a lot of fun they are - messy, intense, versatile (that is more or less how K describes me really!).
When I got home on Monday my delivery from Teesha Moore had arrived. I find her art journals so inspiring that after I look at them I have to step away from my own for awhile, to let my own style seep back. I ordered some collage sheets and 3 stamps and she put in some extras, so that was a wonderful surprise. It was tricky to choose, as I wanted to use her eye for design, without creating pseudo-teesha work, so tried to choose very versatile images.
Panda Drivers of the World Unite!
I always grin when I see another Fiat Panda driving along. The other day coming up Bedford Hill I flashed a car to let them turn right across my path - as they turned I realised it was a silver Panda like mine - with both driver and passenger grinning at me their best Panda-Drivers-Unite grin.
Sadly another day last week I grinned my best Panda grin at a lady driving a blue Panda, but as I wasn't in mine, she just thought I was mad. Oh well.
The Panda is in hospital over the weekend, with a mechanic who always says, in a pussycats and babies voice, "It's such a good little car!".
